Late summer and early fall are beautiful times of the year where the heat has simmered and school is starting back up. The relief from the heat also brings some of the insect activity back up. This is the ideal time of the year to seed the lawn; natural conditions are in your favor as far as air temperatures, soil temperatures and natural moisture.

The arrival of autumn offers your turf, trees and shrubs a well deserved break from the summer heat. Along with the naturally cooler temperatures, we also have naturally wetter conditions with less evaporation. The mower may be lowered one more notch (2 - 2.5 inches) when the weather begins to cool below 70 degrees consistently.
