lace bugThe lace bug is named for the lace-like pattern that is formed on the wings and thorax of this pest. The lace bug feeds on leaf sap, as they suck the secretion through the leaf bleaching or leaf spots may occur (though other insects or mites may cause this type of damage - it is important to correctly ID the pest which is targeting your landscape).

  • Damage tends to occur in full sun areas, promoting partial shade during the afternoon may deter lace bug activity
  • Promote lady bug activity in the yard - they feed on a variety of insects
  • Applying a chemical insect control will help keep lace bug populations in check
