Adult size: about 1/16th - 1/8th inches

Lady Bugs are beneficial and one of natures natural pest controls. Although some sub-species are vegetarians, many actually eat other bugs! From aphids to spider mites and other soft-bodied insects, lady bugs can help to keep the garden and landscape free from bugs. Certain plants attract ladybugs more so than others, cilantro and marigolds for example.

What homeowners can do:

Attracting ladybugs to the garden can be fun and easy:

Have plants around that they love: umbrella shaped flowers, cilantro, marigold, and dill to name a few.
Water often or have an area for the ladybugs to get water. Watch out though, water is also the breeding ground for mosquitoes.
